Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church is a great place to be. We are a warm & welcoming congregation that is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our mission is to faithfully demonstrate God’s grace by nurturing disciples and serving the community.
This focus of the congregation is not just outward but inward. Inward in the sense that the congregation seeks continued spiritual growth – growth in our understanding of God’s word, the foundations of our faith, of His will for us and how we can be examples of a faith that is alive in our daily living at home, work and school.
Calvary has a vibrant worship life. Contemporary worship service is at 9:00AM, Sunday School is at 10:10AM and our traditional worship service is at 11:00AM on Sundays. Be sure to join us for an all congregation fellowship time at 10:00AM (featuring coffee & pastries),
We have a wonderful facility with an educational wing (7 classrooms with our youth room downstairs) completed in 2007.
Our facilities are used by community groups during the week for meetings. Cub Scout Pack 827 uses our facility for pack meetings, den meetings and other events. Elim Korean Presbyterian Church worships here on Sunday afternoons and Glenwood Academy uses the church’s classroom facilities during the week.
Worship and Christian education is not just on Sundays at Calvary. Throughout the year there are evening programs for confirmation, and Wednesdays at Calvary (WAC) which is youth activities and Bible study, and adult education. We have an outdoor worship area for holding services in the summer. During Lent, we have a service of prayer and meditation. The fall initiates the Sunday school year that raises both the excitement and the volume. We end the year with four services on Christmas Eve.
